Premier League

“I don’t believe he can turn things around at Manchester United, He has only been getting worse at the club. Especially in their last match against Crystal Palace, he had little to no impact in the game and he has been in the club for a while now, it’s disappointing that he has no impacts in game” – This is according to Former English Footballer Joe Cole as he advises Manchester United to part ways with Antony after giving verdict on the underperforming Brazilian.

A former England player believes that Brazilian winger Antony might be leaving Old Trafford soon, as he struggles to cope with the physical demands of the Premier League.

Joe Cole believes Antony’s time at Manchester United may be coming to an end because he isn’t suited to the Premier League.

The Brazilian winger has only made one brief league appearance this season, coming off the bench late in their 2-1 defeat to Brighton last month.

Despite being an £82m signing from Ajax, Antony is now in his third season at Old Trafford but has yet to firmly establish himself at the club.

He has fallen down the pecking order behind players like Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Amad, increasingly becoming a fringe figure.

Cole commented, “The problem with Antony at Manchester United is that he’s perfect for the Dutch league.”

Joe Cole believes Antony struggles with the physicality of the Premier League despite being a talented player with great technique and skill.

While Antony performed well and scored a penalty in Manchester United’s 7-0 Carabao Cup win over Barnsley, Cole doesn’t see him making a significant impact in the starting lineup this season.

The 24-year-old hasn’t appeared in United’s last three Premier League games, remaining an unused substitute, even when the team struggled in the 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.

Cole doubts Antony can turn things around at Manchester United.

Antony was left on the sidelines during Manchester United’s Community Shield loss to Manchester City and their opening day defeat to Fulham.

In an interview with Paddy Power, Joe Cole commented: “I think Antony is playing with a move away from the club in mind, and I believe United will move on from him

He’s still young and should be entering his prime in the net few years, but I think he’s better suited to other leagues.”

Joe Cole has voiced his doubts about Antony’s future at Manchester United, suggesting the Brazilian winger might soon depart from Old Trafford due to his struggles adapting to the Premier League’s physical demands. Despite being an £82 million signing from Ajax, Antony has yet to establish himself at the club and has slipped down the pecking order behind players like Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Amad.

Cole noted that while Antony is a talented player with great technique, he is better suited to the Dutch league than the Premier League, where the physicality has proven challenging for him. Antony’s limited appearances this season, including coming off the bench during United’s 2-1 loss to Brighton and being left as an unused substitute in recent games, indicate that he is now on the fringes of Erik ten Hag’s squad.

In an interview, Cole remarked that Antony may already be considering a move away from the club, as his performances have not had the desired impact. While Antony has shown flashes of quality, including a penalty goal in United’s Carabao Cup win over Barnsley, his long-term prospects at the club appear uncertain, and Cole believes he might be better suited to other leagues as he enters his prime years.
