Bruno Fernandes said there was a ‘lot of disappointment’ inside the Manchester United dressing room following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford.

After taking a 70th-minute lead via Fernandes’ first Premier League goal of the season from the penalty spot, United were pegged back just four minutes later through a wonderful effort from Moises Caicedo.

The Chelsea midfielder brought the Londoners level, firing a low volley past Andre Onana. The ball fell invitingly for the former Brighton & Hove Albion man after United failed to deal with a corner.

United, as a result, have won just one of their last six Premier League matches, leaving them 13th in the table. Fernandes admitted there was a feeling of frustration among his teammates.

“Everyone knows how much I wanted the goal to come,” Fernandes told Sky Sports. “I need to help the team with goals and assists.

“It’s been one of the most disappointing things this season – but I got some in the cup. Now scoring in the Premier League.

“It was a lot of disappointment in the dressing room. We could have won the game.”

Fernandes admitted that both he and his teammates felt disheartened, as they believed they could have taken all three points. “There was a lot of disappointment in the dressing room,” he told *Sky Sports*, adding that while he was pleased to end his goal drought in the league, he remains focused on contributing more consistently to the team’s performance.
