With United languishing in 6th place and enduring 11 defeats in the league, their hopes of securing a top-four finish seem bleak. Despite managing to defeat Aston Villa twice this season, their inconsistency has hindered their progress, especially with back-to-back losses.

“I thought they could finish in the top four at one point, but then they get beaten at home to Fulham and lose convincingly to Manchester City,” Redknapp expressed to BetVictor. “I think they’re bang average to be honest.”

Redknapp further highlighted the disparity between the current United team and the legendary squads under Sir Alex Ferguson, noting the absence of players who could match the caliber of past stars.

“At the moment, Manchester United are miles away – I don’t see them anywhere near winning the title or being close to doing so in the next few years either,” he added.

Despite his critical assessment, Redknapp identified young talents Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund as players with the potential to make a significant impact for United in the future.

“Kobbie Mainoo will certainly go on and be a top player for Manchester United,” Redknapp remarked. “In terms of the Euros this summer, I think we’re quite loaded up with midfielders in that England team – we’ve got some of the best players in the world there in Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice.”

Regarding Hojlund, Redknapp sees potential for him to compete for the Premier League Golden Boot in the future, considering the landscape of contenders.

“He could have as big of a chance as anybody in the future, I think,” Redknapp concluded, highlighting the promising prospects amidst United’s current challenges. It seems Harry Redknapp has strong opinions about the current state of Manchester United’s squad, describing them as “bang average.” However, he sees potential in young talents Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund, believing they can make a significant impact in the future.
