Lampard singled out Cole Palmer’s commendable performance for Chelsea and emphasized the significance of momentum, referencing their recent 6-0 victory. Yet, he acknowledged the looming challenge in their upcoming match.

Chelsea grabbed headlines with their recent six-goal thrashing of Everton, but a penalty dispute involving Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke, and Palmer also drew attention. Eventually, Palmer stepped up and netted his fourth goal of the match.

Despite Chelsea’s recent good form, Lampard recognized the expected challenges for any new manager, citing his own experience transitioning from player to manager. Having been an iconic midfielder for Chelsea from 2001 to 2014, Lampard’s managerial stint from 2019 to 2021 followed his interim role at the end of the previous campaign.
