“Erik Have to bench him if he really want to beat Arsenal today. He was the reason they lost woefully against Crystal Palace”-Carragher tears into ’embarrassing’ Man Utd star and tells Erik ten Hag to take him off if he wants to win his next game against Arsenal
Jamie Carragher heavily criticized a Manchester United player for his disappointing performance in the first half against Crystal Palace. Despite trailing by two goals, fans singled out one player for their poor showing at Selhurst Park.
Carragher did not hold back in his assessment of Casemiro, who was playing out of position at center-back due to Harry Maguire’s injury.
Carragher described Casemiro’s attempt at closing down Michael Olise as “embarrassing” and called for him to be substituted.
He emphasized that playing out of position was not an excuse for Casemiro’s poor performance. Carragher even suggested rearranging the team formation by moving Wan-Bissaka to the center and bringing on a full-back.
Expressing disappointment, Carragher remarked that it was “sad to see” a player of Casemiro’s caliber performing so poorly, especially at just 32 years old. Despite the shocking display, manager Erik ten Hag made no changes at halftime. It sounds like Carragher was quite critical of Casemiro’s performance in the first half, especially considering he was playing out of position. Carragher’s analysis suggests he believes Casemiro’s struggles were significant and warranted a substitution. It will be interesting to see if Ten Hag addresses this in the second half.
