English club Have sacked thier big name manager after a poor end to last season
According to David Norris, 49ers Enterprises may have to fire manager Daniel Farke if Leeds United do not finish in the top three of the Championship by late October.
Farke was unable to lead the Whites back into the Premier League on his first attempt last season, losing 1-0 to Southampton in the playoff final after finishing third in the standings.
However, the German will be given another chance in 2024/25, but he is unlikely to be granted much freedom in terms of performance, with supporters and club management alike expecting nothing less than promotion to the first division.
Farke faces pressure to produce.
According to former Leeds midfielder Norris, who played 36 games for the club between 2012 and 2015, scoring four goals, Farke might lose his job if his team does not finish at least third in the standings by late October.
“Not very,” Norris told MOT Leeds News when asked how long he believes Farke may survive if Leeds had a bad start to 2024/25.
Norris went on to say, “The pressure is going to be on after not going up last season; they will be aiming for automatic promotion.”
“I believe if Leeds are not in the top three by the end of October, they will surely make a change – or if they have a horrible start, it may be sooner.
“They were correct to continue with him and give him another chance, but the pressure is obviously on now.”
Leeds will learn their first opponents for the season when the Championship matches are released on Wednesday. Before that, they have friendlies against Yorkshire rivals Harrogate Town and Spanish powerhouse Valencia.Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is facing significant pressure to secure promotion in the 2024/25 season, with the club’s management and fans expecting him to lead the team back to the Premier League. According to former Leeds midfielder David Norris, Farke’s tenure might be at risk if Leeds are not in the top three of the Championship standings by late October. Norris suggests that the club might make a managerial change if the team experiences a poor start to the season.
After narrowly missing out on promotion last season, losing in the playoff final to Southampton, Farke has been given another opportunity. However, this chance comes with high expectations and limited patience from the club’s stakeholders. Norris believes that Leeds’ ambition for automatic promotion means that Farke could be dismissed if the team’s performance is not up to par early in the season. The release of the Championship fixture list and upcoming friendlies against Harrogate Town and Valencia will soon provide the initial tests for Farke and his squad.
