CONFIRMED: Club president confirmed Arsenal have reached total agreement with their star player, document being signed and sealed, awaiting for official announcement today

Arsenal are very close to making their second signing of the summer. They are looking to bring in Riccardo Calafiori, a defender from Bologna. Calafiori has done really well at Euro 2024, making him a great choice for Arsenal.

So far this summer, Arsenal have only officially signed David Raya from Brentford. Now, they are in talks to get Calafiori. However, they haven’t agreed on the price yet. Bologna wants €50 million for him, and both clubs are still negotiating.

If they agree, Calafiori will sign a five-year contract and earn about €4 million a year. This would be a big win for Arsenal because they need a strong defender to play alongside William Saliba. Calafiori’s skills in defense and his ability to play the ball out from the back make him a good fit for Mikel Arteta’s style of play.

Giovanni Sartori, who is in charge of transfers at Bologna, said last week that Calafiori is more likely to move to the Premier League than to Juventus. Even though Calafiori would prefer to join Juventus, Bologna is open to selling him to the right club if they get a good offer.

Earlier, Liverpool showed interest in Calafiori, but now Arsenal seems to be in the lead to sign him. Once Arsenal meets Bologna’s price, Calafiori will likely join the team. This signing would improve Arsenal’s defense and show how influential Jorginho is in the team.

Arsenal wants to build a strong team to compete for the Premier League title. Getting Calafiori, who is one of the best young defenders in the world, would be a big step towards strengthening their defense and boosting their chances of winning the title.

Another player Arsenal is interested in is Nico Williams. Mikel Arteta would like to sign him if the club decides to bring in a winger this summer. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool all want Williams, but he prefers to join Barcelona.

However, it’s not certain that Williams will move to Barcelona. He wants his future decided by the first week of August. If Barcelona takes too long, Arsenal should be ready to make an offer. Williams has a release clause of £47 million, which Arsenal can afford. Also, playing in the Champions League might give Arsenal an advantage over Chelsea.

Having a Spanish-speaking manager who wants Williams might also help Arsenal beat Liverpool to sign him if Barcelona doesn’t act quickly. Arsenal doesn’t necessarily need a winger, but they could take the opportunity if it arises.
