Manchester United is working on a new offer for Jarrad Branthwaite, who has already agreed to personal terms to join the team. They initially offered £43 million for the English central defender, but Everton turned it down.

According to The Mail, United is planning to make a higher bid to convince Everton to sell Branthwaite. Everton values him at around £75 million, and due to their financial issues, they might consider a large offer.

Football Insider reports that Everton wasn’t impressed by United’s first bid for their key player. Last year, Manchester City paid £77.6 million for another defender, Gvardiol, and Everton believes Branthwaite is worth even more than him. Despite their financial problems, Everton has set a high price of £90 million for the 21-year-old center back and doesn’t want to sell him for less.

If Manchester United agrees to pay £90 million, Branthwaite would become the most expensive defender ever. However, United is worried about spending this much and might look at other defenders if Everton doesn’t lower their price (ESPN).
