A “stunning update” has surfaced revealing that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was at risk of being “definitely sacked” if the performance against Brentford is not satisfactory as his replacement is already confirmed.

According to recent reports, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was allegedly on the verge of being “definitely sacked” by Sir Jim Ratcliffe if his team had lost to Aston Villa.

United’s dismal start to the 2024/25 season, with only two victories in their first seven Premier League matches and two draws in the Europa League, placed Ten Hag under immense pressure.

Before the clash against Villa, United were seen as the underdogs. The game ultimately ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw.

Following this result, Ratcliffe, alongside other key club executives, convened in London to discuss Ten Hag’s future. However, no final decision regarding his dismissal was made. It is believed that Ten Hag will remain in charge for their upcoming match against Brentford.

Former Everton chairman Keith Wyness disclosed that Ten Hag was indeed close to losing his job if United had failed to secure a win over Villa, indicating that the club’s hierarchy initially considered sacking him but decided to hold off.
