BREAKING NEWS: Coming Live From Fabrizio Romano, 🚨🔴Manchester United Are Prepared To Welcome Mason Greenwood Back For Pre-Season Training As Club Plans To End All Deal That Will See Mason Greenwood Leave Man United. According To Reports, Manchester United Have Told The Forward To Report Back For Pre-Season Training With The Rest Of The Squad. “United Plans To Cancel All Transfer Linking Greenwood Out Of The Club As Decision Has Been Made To Bring Him Back And Be Reinstated To The Team With Immediate Effect United Are Due Back For Training On July 8”. Mason Greenwood Makes His Way Back To Old Trafford.

Manchester United are prepared to have Mason Greenwood return for pre-season training if they cannot sell him within the next two weeks.

The club is seeking a permanent deal to offload Greenwood, who scored 10 goals in 36 appearances while on loan at La Liga side Getafe last season. Lazio has shown interest, but their £30 million offer falls at least £10 million short of United’s asking price for the 22-year-old, who has one cap for England.

Last summer, United sent Greenwood on loan to Getafe after reversing a decision to reintegrate him into Erik ten Hag’s squad. This U-turn came after charges of attempted rape, assault, and controlling behavior against Greenwood were dropped. Initially planning to bring him back, United changed course due to public criticism and concerns over backlash, opting to loan him out instead.

If Greenwood remains under contract, he would be eligible to join the squad for pre-season training. While this might invite further criticism given the sensitivity surrounding his case, he is entitled to start his pre-season program. Greenwood has not played for United since his suspension in January 2022 following his arrest, although all charges were later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

United’s willingness to sell Greenwood, who has one year left on his contract, is bolstered by the potential profit under the Premier League’s sustainability rules, as he came through the club’s academy.Manchester United’s situation with Mason Greenwood is indeed complex. The club is looking to sell him, ideally for a fee above £40 million, given his recent performance on loan at Getafe. Lazio’s interest, although welcome, falls short of this valuation, creating a potential impasse.

Greenwood’s return to pre-season training is contingent on whether a suitable deal can be reached. While his eligibility to train is clear, the move could spark significant controversy due to the previous charges against him, even though they were dropped. United’s decision last year to loan him out rather than reintegrate him highlighted the delicate balance they are trying to maintain between sporting considerations and public sentiment.

With one year left on his contract and his potential to generate a significant transfer fee, United will be eager to resolve this matter swiftly to avoid further distractions as they prepare for the new season.
