BREAKING NEWS: Coming live from Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea ready to break the bank for Barcelona defensive duo. According to reports, Chelsea are gearing up for a massive €150 million swoop on Barcelona’s defensive stars Jules Koundé and Ronald Araújo! Maresca has set his sights on bringing them to Stamford Bridge as replacements for Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana. He’s determined to form a rock-solid partnership at the back—one that could dominate for years to come.

Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on Paris Saint-Germain defender Willian Pacho as a potential transfer target for 2025, with the 23-year-old possibly available for a relatively low fee.

Currently thriving under the management of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea sit in third place in the Premier League table after 13 matches—a surprisingly strong position given their extensive squad overhaul during the summer transfer window. The team has shown promising form, with Cole Palmer continuing to impress and Nicolas Jackson rediscovering his scoring touch. Meanwhile, the Blues’ defense has held firm, providing stability at the back.

However, Chelsea remain active in their pursuit of reinforcements. Reports suggest the club is considering a significant €150 million investment to acquire Barcelona’s defensive duo Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo. Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana have developed a solid partnership at the heart of the defense, but the club is closely monitoring other options, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah and Club Brugge’s Joel Orondez.

Kounde and Araujo have been linked with Chelsea in the past, with Kounde nearly joining the club before his move to Barcelona in 2022, and Araujo coming close to a Stamford Bridge switch earlier this year. However, a new and somewhat surprising name has emerged: Willian Pacho. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea admire the Ecuadorian defender, despite him being less than six months into a five-year contract at PSG.

The report states, “PSG, for their part, are not considering letting go of a player who has been key in their system. However, an offer like the one Chelsea is preparing could force the Parisian club to reconsider, especially if they feel they can reinvest that amount in other areas of the team. Pacho, meanwhile, remains focused on his performance and appears unaffected by the rumors.”

Pacho joined PSG in the summer for a fee that could rise to €45 million and has quickly made an impact, starting 15 matches across all competitions. His impressive performances have caught Chelsea’s attention
