Coming from Fabrizio Romano this morning One time Ballon D’or winner Karim Benzema has finally signed a 6 Months loan contract with this shocking Premier League Club
Karim Benzema is considering leaving the Saudi Pro League, and it’s catching the attention of big teams like Manchester United and Chelsea. His former boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, who got sacked in November, reportedly had a disagreement with Benzema.
Many top Premier League teams are eager to sign the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, especially since they need a striker urgently in the January transfer window. Manchester United, facing a financial constraint, is exploring the possibility of bringing Benzema on board to fill the gap left by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
Under coach Erik ten Hag, United has struggled to find the back of the net, scoring only 24 goals in 21 games this season. With limited funds available, the club is contemplating a move for Benzema, who has scored an impressive 15 goals in 24 games for Al Ittihad.
Chelsea, too, is in the hunt for a reliable striker. Despite spending over £1 billion on new players in the last 18 months, Mauricio Pochettino’s team lacks a consistent goal-scorer. Summer signing Christopher Nkunku made his Premier League debut only last month, and Nicolas Jackson’s form has been inconsistent since his move from Villarreal.
Chelsea’s only other registered striker, Armando Broja, could leave if a suitable replacement is found, fetching the club £50 million. Meanwhile, Arsenal is also in need of a striker, and a loan move for Benzema could be appealing.
Al Ittihad, however, is reluctant to lose their star player in January, as his current contract has two and a half years remaining. Yet, seeing how Jordan Henderson successfully negotiated a move from Al Ettifaq to Ajax, Benzema might believe he can force a return to a top European club in the next two weeks.
