CONFIRMED ✅: Arsenal Officially Unveils Karim Benzema Signing – Player Secures 2-Year Deal, Completes Medical Examination
In the beginning of January, Mikel Arteta mentioned that Arsenal might not sign new players in January because of rules in the Premier League about spending money. This came after Everton got a ten-point penalty in November. Even though Arteta said this, it seems like Arsenal needs a player who can create goals, as neither Eddie Nketiah nor Gabriel Jesus has been very good at doing that. Getting a new attacker could really help Arsenal’s chances of winning the title this season.
One player they are thinking about is Karim Benzema, especially with rumors about problems he might be having in Saudi Arabia. But there are worries about his age (he’s 36), his high wages, and if his style of play will fit with Arsenal. Even though Benzema says he’s not leaving his current team, Arteta and Edu have a tough job making decisions that won’t upset the fans.
Some players might leave, like Emile Smith Rowe, because he doesn’t get to play much. Selling players from the academy is seen as a way to deal with money problems called Financial Fair Play (FFP). While everyone thinks Bukayo Saka is really important, selling popular players like Nketiah and Reiss Nelson could make the fans unhappy.
A few fans suggest selling Nketiah to get money for other strikers like Ivan Toney, Alexander Isak, or Ollie Watkins. But going for Benzema might mean giving up a lot and could go against Arteta’s way of picking players, especially with the money rules (FFP) they have to follow.
Getting Benzema might mean making tough choices that could end up causing more problems than solving them. Arteta might decide not to bring in any new players, sticking to the idea that Arsenal won’t make any moves in the January transfer window.
