DEAL CONFIRMED: Man United ‘betting heavily’ to sign £152,000 a week attacker after rivals bid is rejected – personal terms is not a problem as player wants Man united move
Manchester United’s interest in Dani Olmo, the playmaker from RB Leipzig, is growing stronger every day. Olmo has decided it’s time to advance in his career and wants to join a top European club this summer.
According to today’s issue of Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are making a serious effort to sign the Spanish star of the Euros after RB Leipzig turned down Barcelona’s first offer for the former La Masia player.
Yesterday, we shared a story about Manchester United being ready to offer ‘lucrative terms’ to sign the 26-year-old this summer. Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also interested in the talented Spaniard.
Olmo, who makes about £152,000 a week, was one of the best players at the recent European Championships. He finished as one of the top scorers of the tournament, even though he initially played a secondary role to Barcelona star Pedri.
Speaking of Barcelona, the Catalan club is eager to sign Olmo but had their €40m plus €20m bid rejected. RB Leipzig is questioning Barcelona’s commitment to Olmo, especially since they are willing to spend €62m on Nico Williams this summer.
In this situation, Manchester United are pushing hard and would benefit from adding a player like Olmo to their squad. He is one of the most adaptable attackers around.
The versatile Spaniard prefers to play as a No.10, but he is also comfortable on the left side of the attack.
Olmo would bring something different compared to Marcus Rashford, especially if Erik ten Hag decides to use him in that role.
Overall, Olmo would be a great addition to the squad. However, it’s still uncertain if he is a realistic target, as we mentioned yesterday. Only time will reveal how this situation will develop.
What do you think? Should Manchester United take advantage of the situation between Barcelona and Leipzig to sign Dani Olmo?
