The coach of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, has told Anthony Martial to do special training on his own and get fitter before he can play in matches again.
According to a report from Mail Sport, Martial hasn’t been training with the rest of the team since he got sick last month. Because of this, he hasn’t played in any games for United since they lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at home on December 9.
Ten Hag hasn’t been saying much about Martial’s situation recently. Before the 2-2 draw with Tottenham last weekend, Ten Hag said that Martial wasn’t fit. Even though Martial isn’t currently dealing with an injury, it seems he hasn’t fully recovered from being sick last month.
It’s important to note that Ten Hag’s decision for Martial to train by himself isn’t a punishment. Instead, it shows that Ten Hag believes in having individual training sessions for players who need to improve their fitness before playing in matches.
