“He’ll be the next big thing if we can get him now just as we did with Martin Odegaard” Arsenal to repeat Odegaard trick with Real Madrid star forced out by Mbappe

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, is busy shaping up his team for the upcoming summer transfer window, aiming to replicate the success they had with Martin Odegaard’s acquisition from Real Madrid.

Odegaard’s journey to Arsenal began as a loanee from Real Madrid in 2021. His impact was so significant that Arsenal secured him permanently. Now, he leads the Gunners as they pursue their first Premier League title in two decades.

Arteta’s sights are set on the Bernabeu once again, this time targeting attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz, as reported by Spanish outlet El Nacional. Arsenal has reportedly tabled a €70 million offer for the 24-year-old, who recently committed to representing Morocco internationally.

Diaz has been a pivotal figure for Real Madrid this season, featuring in 32 matches with 18 starts, contributing eight goals and four assists. According to data analytics experts at SciSports, he ranks among LaLiga’s top-performing wingers. However, stiff competition within Real Madrid’s ranks, including incoming star Kylian Mbappe, could limit Diaz’s playing time next season.

With Diaz’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) at €29.5 million, Arsenal’s alleged offer significantly exceeds expectations. Arteta, having witnessed Diaz’s potential firsthand during his time as an assistant coach at Manchester City, recognizes his capabilities.

Arsenal’s ambitions extend beyond Diaz, as they look to bolster their attacking options. Previous reports suggest Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres is their primary target in this regard, signaling Arsenal’s proactive approach to strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead.
