HERE WE GO: Arsenal completes the signing of £80m word class player,deal signed last night on a long term deal, Medical today as Club announcement will be done this morning – Arteta third signing confirmed

Arsenal has announced that they have signed Tommy Setford from Ajax. The young English goalkeeper has joined on a long-term contract, with the transfer costing less than £1 million according to football.london.

Tommy Setford has played for England at various youth levels, including the Under-16s, Under-17s, Under-18s, and Under-19s. He has also been selected for the Under-20s squad. Known as a talented modern goalkeeper, Arsenal convinced the 18-year-old to leave Ajax, a club famous for developing young talents.

Setford has played in the UEFA Youth League for Ajax and at the Under-18 level. He even made it to the bench for the Under-21s a couple of times. Now, he is joining Arsenal to fill the gap left by five goalkeepers who left the club at the end of last month. Setford is the second young goalkeeper Arsenal has signed recently, after Lucas Nygaard.

Tommy expressed his excitement about the move, saying, “I want to thank Arsenal for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get started. I already know Ethan [Nwaneri] and Myles [Lewis-Skelly]. They are great guys, and we have had a lot of fun together during past training camps. I just saw them briefly when I arrived.

“I’m looking forward to learning new things next season and pushing myself to improve. For now, it’s important for me to get to know my new teammates and fit into the group.”

Tommy also shared a farewell message to Ajax on Instagram, saying, “Thank you Ajax for more than 10 great years at the most beautiful club in the Netherlands. I have wonderful memories to take with me. I’m sure our paths will cross again in the future.”
