Arsenal is on a mission to find new players, and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that they are interested in a star from Euro 2024.

The Gunners want to improve several parts of their team this summer and are asking about players who can help.

Fans of Arsenal are excited about the possibility of getting more attacking players to help the team catch up to Manchester City.

But manager Mikel Arteta is also focusing on the defense. He is specifically looking for a defender who can play on the left side, whether in a lineup of four or three defenders.

This search has led Arsenal to consider various players. According to Fabrizio Romano, they have now asked about a defender playing in Euro 2024.

Arsenal has shown interest in signing Riccardo Calafiori.

Romano, speaking to GiveMeSport, revealed that Arsenal is looking into the Italian defender Calafiori.

He said, “Arsenal asked about Calafiori to understand his situation. It’s normal to do this when you need a left-footed defender. Riccardo Calafiori is one of the best available now.”

“So, Arsenal is interested in him, but it’s not a negotiation yet. There’s no offer or contact with Bologna; it’s just an inquiry to see what’s possible with Calafiori.”

Calafiori is also attracting attention from other English clubs this summer.

Liverpool is known to be interested in him, and it’s said that Richard Hughes, who watched him while at Bournemouth, is a big fan.

Calafiori has been praised for his excellent performances in the Euros. With Italy’s recent exit from the tournament after losing to Switzerland, it might now be easier to make a deal for him.

Bologna wants around £29 million for Calafiori.
