HERE WE GO: Arsenal pushing very hard to complete another big signing today, player’s camp have agreed to join, medical date fixed as Arteta set to announce His second summer signing today

Arsenal is reportedly thinking about signing Espanyol player Joan Garcia during this transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

The Gunners have been limited by the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. They did not sign any major players in the winter transfer window, and so far, they haven’t made any big signings this summer either.

The only significant business Arsenal has done is making David Raya’s loan move permanent. They are also close to signing young goalkeeper Tommy Setford from Ajax Amsterdam.

It looks like Arsenal is more focused on selling some players to raise money. Once they have reduced their squad size, they might consider signing new players later in the transfer window.

So far, Mikel Arteta’s team has allowed Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares to leave. Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe are also rumored to be moving away from the club.

Potential Sales and Signings

Additionally, it is expected that Eddie Nketiah will be sold, and Aaron Ramsdale might leave too because he wants more regular first-team football after not playing much last season.

TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal sees Garcia as a strong option to strengthen their goalkeeping department before the transfer window closes.

The report also mentions that Arsenal has been watching Garcia’s situation closely before making any move. Garcia has a £21 million release clause in his current contract.

However, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid are also interested in signing him. This means Arsenal will face tough competition from these clubs if they want to secure Garcia’s signature.

Joan Garcia had a good season in La Liga 2 last year, helping Espanyol stay in the top league. He is 6ft 3in tall, good with the ball, strong in the air, and an excellent shot-stopper.

The 23-year-old could be a great long-term signing for Arsenal if they manage to get him. But, he has been selected to play for Spain in the Olympics, which might make the transfer more complicated.
