“He’s going to destroy that Football Club if they make that mistake of signing him”- BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United Legends blasts Arsenal Manager and Sporting director over Thier costly mistake that’ll ruin the club.

Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes has raised doubts about Arsenal’s decision to spend £51 million on Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi. Scholes isn’t sure if Zubimendi is good enough for Arsenal or if he’s the right player for the team.

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has made Zubimendi one of his top transfer targets for the upcoming summer transfer window. The club has reportedly been talking to the 26-year-old midfielder for several months. There were concerns that Real Madrid might try to sign Zubimendi instead, but recent news suggests that the player has agreed on personal terms with Arsenal. This means he is expected to join the London club when the transfer window opens.

Zubimendi currently plays for Real Sociedad in Spain and has made over 200 appearances for the club. He also played a key role in helping Spain win the Euro 2024 championship.

Arsenal’s interest in Zubimendi comes at a time when some of their current midfielders might be leaving. Jorginho is expected to move away from north London this summer, and there are also rumors that Thomas Partey could be on his way out. With these potential changes, Arsenal sees Zubimendi as someone who can play in front of the defense, control the pace of the game, and allow Declan Rice to play further up the pitch.

However, Paul Scholes is not convinced. Speaking on The Overlap, a football discussion show, he questioned the need for Zubimendi. Scholes said, “What position is Zubimendi supposed to fill? I don’t see a gap in the team. Declan Rice can already do the defensive midfield role. People think Rice is more of an attacking player, but I don’t see that in him.”

Scholes also added that he watched Zubimendi play against Manchester United in a match for Real Sociedad and was not impressed. He said that performance made him doubt whether Zubimendi can do the job Arsenal wants him to.

On the other hand, another football expert and former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, disagreed with Scholes. Neville believes that Zubimendi would be a great signing for Arsenal. He pointed out that although Rice and Partey are good players, neither of them is particularly skilled at receiving the ball under pressure or controlling the flow of a match.

Neville said, “I think Rice is excellent and Partey is very good, but when it comes to keeping control of the game, especially in the biggest matches, they struggle. Jorginho is probably the best at that in the current squad, but they need someone even better. That’s why Zubimendi could be so important.”

In addition to Zubimendi, Arsenal also wants to sign a new striker to strengthen the team. Some of the forwards they are looking at include Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Liam Delap. Arsenal is eager to improve their squad because they have now gone five seasons without winning a trophy.

Their current position in the Premier League is under threat, too. With just two matches left in the season, Arsenal is in second place, but that spot isn’t secure. Teams like Newcastle United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Aston Villa are all close behind and could overtake them.

Arsenal’s next game is at home against a strong Newcastle side, and they will finish the season with a match against Southampton, who are at the bottom of the league table.
