“I blame Mikel Arteta for selling him, it is his fault, he sold the player for just £20M and now he finished higher than even Jude Bellingham in the Avalon d’Or rankings”- Arsenal icon Thierry Henry slams Artera for letting ‘fantastic’ Arsenal player leave the club carelessly

‘Fantastic’ player Arsenal sold for £20m now outranks Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane in Ballon d’Or

Last night, there was this big event called the Ballon d’Or ceremony. It’s like an awards show for football players. Guess who stole the spotlight? Emiliano Martinez! He used to play for Arsenal but left three years ago, and now he’s hitting it big.

Emiliano’s soccer journey has been pretty cool lately. He became the top goalie for Aston Villa after leaving Arsenal and quickly got the same gig for Argentina too. Last night, they said he’s the best goalie in the world and the 15th best player overall. That’s a big deal!

Let’s rewind a bit. Martinez spent a whole decade with Arsenal, joining them when he was just a teen from Argentina. But, even though he stuck around for a long time, he didn’t get to play much. His big break came when another Arsenal goalie got hurt in the 2019/20 season. Martinez stepped in, helped Arsenal win the FA Cup and the Community Shield, and suddenly everyone knew his name.

Fast forward three years, and now he’s the top goalie globally. He’s even beating out other famous players like Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and some Arsenal folks like Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka. Not bad for a guy Arsenal sold for just £20 million!

But hold on, there’s a twist. When Martinez left, Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta, picked another goalie, Bernd Leno, as the main guy. Now, he has to choose between Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya. It’s not an easy decision. Back then, Arteta could explain why he let Martinez go, but if he sells Ramsdale to a big club, it might be a different story. Ramsdale is really good, and who knows, he might become the best goalie in the world in a few years too!
