“I didn’t planned to leave the Club for any reason but Arsenal is the club I love wholeheartedly”: Player pens an emotional message for current club as he landed in England ahead of Arsenal transfer.

The transfer window has been open for just over two weeks now. Last season, the team that came second in the Premier League was exciting to watch at times, but they ended the season poorly because they didn’t have any new ideas during the middle of the year.

So, it’s not surprising that they have been linked with several attackers recently. Whether it’s Spain’s fast winger Nico Williams, Viktor Gyokeres in recent weeks, or Benjamin Sesko last month, it’s clear that the North London team wants to boost their attacking options this summer.

The latest player rumored to join them might be the most interesting one yet. According to a source from Spain, Arsenal is still interested in signing Napoli’s star striker Victor Osimhen, who is expected to leave Italy this summer.

The source says that the Premier League is the most likely destination for the Nigerian superstar. Although many clubs are reportedly interested in him, Arsenal and Chelsea are the main ones chasing him. Napoli is waiting for a team to meet his release clause, which is worth €120 million, or about £102 million. However, there’s a good chance this price could be lowered during negotiations.

Even though it would be an expensive deal, signing Osimhen could help Arsenal end their 20-year title drought next season. Watching him play alongside Williams could be amazing.

According to U23 scout Antonio Mango, the main reason Arsenal and other clubs want to sign the “Nigerian nightmare” is because he scores a lot of goals.

Last season, Osimhen, who earns £209k per week, had a somewhat disappointing year but still scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 32 games. The season before, he scored an impressive 31 goals in 39 games and added five assists.

In comparison, Gabriel Jesus scored 19 goals and gave 15 assists in 69 games during the same period, while Kai Havertz scored 23 goals and provided eight assists in 98 appearances over the past two seasons. Here are their stats:

Osimhen (2022-2023):
– Appearances: 39
– Goals: 31
– Assists: 5
– Goal Contributions per Game: 0.92

Havertz (2022-2023):
– Appearances: 47
– Goals: 9
– Assists: 1
– Goal Contributions per Game: 0.21

Jesus (2022-2023):
– Appearances: 33
– Goals: 11
– Assists: 7
– Goal Contributions per Game: 0.54

Osimhen (2023-2024):
– Appearances: 32
– Goals: 17
– Assists: 4
– Goal Contributions per Game: 0.65

Havertz (2023-2024):
– Appearances: 51
– Goals: 14
– Assists: 7
– Goal Contributions per Game: 0.38

Jesus (2023-2024)
– Appearances: 36
– Goals: 8
– Assists: 8
– Goal Contributions per Game: 0.44

These stats are from Transfermarkt.

Players like Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka would certainly benefit from Osimhen’s amazing ability to score goals. If Arsenal can also add Nico Williams, they might have an unstoppable attack next season.

The main reason the famous manager José Mourinho called Williams a “world-class” Napoli star is that he recorded 19 assists and eight goals in 37 appearances last season, averaging a goal involvement every 1.37 games for Athletic Bilbao.

Manager Mikel Arteta should be excited about the idea of having Osimhen on his left and Saka on his right, who got 14 assists in 47 games last season. If Arsenal can sign Osimhen this summer and also get Williams, they might be the champions by this time next year.
