I know there’ll be a serious competition next season because the goalkeeper they’re about to sign is very good but I’m not going anywhere, I’ll fight for my position”: Manchester United’s goalkeeper Andre Onana says he won’t leave the club after Man United agreed £90m fee to sign World-class shot stopper

Andre Onana is reportedly set to reject a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia in order to maintain his position as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Despite enduring another challenging season at United following an inconsistent debut, Onana has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

United are currently undergoing significant changes under head coach Ruben Amorim, who has ambitious plans to revamp his underperforming squad. Onana’s role as United’s primary keeper was not believed to be in jeopardy, with Amorim focusing on more pressing areas of his team.
However, with the Saudi Pro League potentially targeting Onana this summer, United may choose to capitalise on the interest in 28-year-old and seek a replacement.

Despite this, the Mirror report that Onana wishes to stay at United beyond this summer and will only depart if the club expresses a desire to let him go.
Onana, who transferred to United from Inter Milan for £43.8 million in the summer of 2023, still has three years remaining on his contract and is not pushing for a move away.
There have been rumours that United are interested in signing a new goalkeeper this summer, casting doubt over the future of second-choice keeper Altay Bayindir.
Third-choice keeper Tom Heaton is also expected to depart at the end of the current season.

Reports have emerged suggesting that Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana is considering a move to the Saudi Pro League during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to The Sun, both Manchester United and Manchester City anticipate losing their current first-choice goalkeepers to Saudi Arabian clubs, with Onana being a prime candidate for such a transfer.

Despite these rumors, other sources indicate that Onana intends to remain at Manchester United and is determined to fight for his place under head coach Ruben Amorim. FootballTransfers.com reports that Onana is resolved to stay at the club, even as Amorim seeks to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.

Onana joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in July 2023 for an initial fee of £43.8 million, with potential add-ons. Since his arrival, his performances have been inconsistent, leading to speculation about his future at the club. However, with three years remaining on his contract, Onana appears committed to staying at Old Trafford unless the club decides otherwise.

The situation remains fluid, with varying reports about Onana’s future. Fans and analysts will be keenly observing how this develops as the summer transfer window approaches.
