Manchester United is getting closer to adding a new player to their team – a defender named Giorgio Scalvini from Atalanta.

It’s reported by Seb Ecrivain Foot, who writes for the French sports outlet Les Bons Conceil Du Sports, that the deal is worth £44 million.

The talks between the two clubs are advanced, meaning they are in the final stages of discussion. The Red Devils, as Manchester United is often called, are prepared to use a release clause to sign Scalvini, who is just 20 years old.

Manchester United wants to strengthen their defense, especially in the central position, and they’ve been keeping an eye on Scalvini for some time now.

Scalvini, who is 6 feet 4 inches tall and plays for the Italian national team, is good at both defending and attacking. He has a lot of potential and has become an important player for his club and his country.

Even though he’s quite young, many people consider Scalvini one of the best young central defenders in the world. Other teams, like Chelsea, have also shown interest in signing him, but it looks like Manchester United is ahead in the race to get him.

If everything goes well, Scalvini could be joining Manchester United at Old Trafford in the next few weeks.

AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus are also interested in Scalvini, so it’s a bit of luck for Manchester United if they can sign him before these Italian teams.

Raphael Varane, another defender for Manchester United, might leave the team when his contract ends this season. This creates a need for a replacement, and Scalvini seems like a good fit.

Scalvini has played 74 games for Atalanta in Serie A, Italy’s top football league, even though he’s still quite young. His calmness on the field and his ability to start plays from the back are qualities that have caught the attention of Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag.
