“I will rather sell him to Man City…I haven’t forgot what they did to us last year”: Newcastle owner reject Arsenal eye-watering offer for 24-year old superstar who have been described as the next Ronaldinho.

Former Arsenal star Gilberto Silva has denied any involvement in trying to persuade Bruno Guimaraes to leave Newcastle United for Arsenal.

Arsenal had an outstanding season last year and are now focusing on signing players who can help them compete more effectively for the Premier League title against Manchester City. One of the players they are eyeing is Bruno Guimaraes, who had an impressive season with Newcastle. Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, is keen to bolster his midfield with more top-quality talent.

According to reports from the TMW website, sources close to Guimaraes suggest he might be considering a move to a club that competes in the Champions League and regularly wins trophies.

Recently, Gilberto Silva was seen with Guimaraes, leading to media speculation that Silva was trying to convince him to join Arsenal. However, Gilberto Silva has clarified the situation.

In an interview with AFTV, Silva said: “Bruno is a good player and has done exceptionally well at Newcastle. I met with him a couple of weeks ago, but not to discuss a transfer. I want to reassure everyone that Bruno is very happy in England and at Newcastle, where he is well-loved by the fans.

“He has achieved a lot at Newcastle, especially earning the respect of the people there. It’s not easy to integrate into a new club, especially one with ambitious new owners who invest heavily in the team and support their players. Newcastle took a chance on him, and he has repaid their faith.

“But yes, as you know, the transfer market is open!”
