Jude Bellingham has rare injury that around ’10 per cent’ of people can never suffer

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham’s injury could never be suffered by approximately 10 per cent of the world’s population, according to a new report.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Bellingham would be sidelined for the first month of the La Liga season due to a calf injury.

This injury will also prevent him from participating in England’s Nations League matches next month, which will be interim manager Lee Carsley’s initial games with the senior team.

On Instagram, Bellingham shared: “I hate missing games more than anything, but I’m trying to stay positive and think maybe my body needs extra rest after a busy year.

“I’m very frustrated, but I’ll be supporting the team as a fan until I can return in top form.”

Real Madrid announced that Bellingham has a plantaris muscle injury in his right leg.

The plantaris muscle is located behind the knee and has a long, thin tendon extending towards the Achilles.

While this might seem like a common injury, it is actually quite rare—about 10 percent of people lack a plantaris muscle altogether.

There is ongoing debate about the muscle’s specific function, as some functions remain unaffected even if the plantaris muscle is injured.The injury has significantly affected Bellingham, as he will miss Real Madrid’s opening matches of the season.

This absence adds to the challenges for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, especially with the team’s upcoming game against Real Valladolid.

Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is sidelined due to a knee injury, and left-back Ferland Mendy is suspended.

David Alaba, who has been out long-term with a severe knee injury sustained in January, is still in recovery but approaching a return.
