Mallorca Fan Sentenced to One Year in Prison for Racially Abusing Vinicius Jr
A Mallorca fan has been found guilty of racially abusing Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. during a match in February 2023.
The individual, who was seated in the stands at the Son Moix stadium, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison and banned from attending football stadiums for the next three years.This marks the third conviction in recent months for racial abuse aimed at Real Madrid players.
In addition to Vinicius Jr., Samu Chukwueze, who plays for Villarreal, was also targeted by the same individual.The court recognized the aggravating factor of racial discrimination in its sentencing but also took into account the mitigating circumstance of repentance.
The fan has been ordered to pay a total of €7,001 in fines and has been prohibited from entering any La Liga or RFEF stadiums for one year
