Man Utd fans all make the same complaint about one star in lacklustre first half vs Spurs
Manchester United supporters have criticized one player’s poor display in the first half of the Premier League encounter against Tottenham Hotspur.
United were stunned by Spurs early on at Old Trafford when Brennan Johnson found the net in the third minute, putting the visitors ahead 1-0 at halftime.
The Red Devils had difficulties throughout the game, with a major setback occurring just before halftime as captain Bruno Fernandes received a straight red card for fouling James Maddison.
However, one player, in particular, stood out for fans as being especially disappointing during the game. Joshua Zirkzee squandered United’s best opportunity in the first half, prompting fans to express their frustration on social media over his inability to level the score and bring the team back into contention.
One fan posted on X, saying: “Might be the worst 30 min of football I’ve ever watched this. Has Zirkzee won a competition to play for us?”
Another commented: “Zirkzee is really slow. Killed the counter attacking man united philosophy. Fails to convert one on one situation. Not a finisher.”
Someone else noted: “Zirkzee is 1.93m, in comparison to Haaland who is 1.94m but Zirkzee is always stretching for the ball, never seems to be in control of his shot, bizarre.”
A further fan echoed this sentiment, adding: “Zirkzee is ALWAYS stretching man, striker with zero f****** box instinct.”
Joshua Zirkzee faced heavy criticism from Manchester United supporters after a poor performance in the first half of their Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur. United struggled early in the game, conceding a goal to Brennan Johnson in the third minute. Zirkzee, who had a clear opportunity to equalize, squandered the chance, frustrating fans who expressed their dissatisfaction on social media. Many criticized his lack of pace, poor finishing, and inability to effectively contribute to United’s counter-attacks, with one fan even comparing his inefficiency in the box to Erling Haaland’s superior positioning and control despite their similar physical stature.
