Man Utd fans all saying same thing about ONE particular player after performance vs FCSB, ‘screaming’ point is loud and clear

Manchester United supporters shared a unified opinion on Tyrell Malacia’s display in the Europa League match against FCSB.
The Red Devils have experienced a resurgence in European competition since Ruben Amorim’s appointment at Old Trafford last November. Under Erik ten Hag, United began their Europa League campaign with three consecutive draws before he was dismissed in 2024. However, they secured four straight victories under Ruud van Nistelrooy and Amorim before their trip to Bucharest.
With a disappointing domestic season leaving them 12th in the Premier League and 12 points behind the top four after 23 matches, the Europa League remains United’s strongest route to Champions League qualification.
Malacia struggles for Man Utd
Malacia endured a difficult evening for United at the National Arena, making his long-awaited return this season after missing the entirety of the previous campaign due to injury. Since arriving from Feyenoord in 2022, he has largely served as backup to Luke Shaw. This term, he has featured in eight matches for the first team following his recovery from two knee surgeries.
Operating as a wing-back in Amorim’s tactical setup, the Netherlands international struggled to make an impact down the left flank. His subdued performance saw United reach half-time with a goalless draw before he was substituted for Alejandro Garnacho.
Man Utd fans react to Malacia’s display vs FCSB
Fans took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to express doubts over Malacia’s future at Old Trafford, especially with Patrick Dorgu reportedly close to joining from Lecce. Some suggested that the Danish defender’s arrival would significantly upgrade the left side, while others were convinced Malacia would find playing time hard to come by once Dorgu is in the squad.
Someone else commented: “This Malacia performance is screaming, ‘That’s why we signed Dorgu.’”
Another added: “The difference Dorgu will make in this team will be very noticeable, Amorim’s system strives on wing-backs [who] can attack; Malacia is more of a natural left-back and won’t take on players the way Dorgu or other natural wing-backs can. The difference will be big!”
A fourth X user tweeted: “Dorgu starts in this exact team and we look 100 [per cent] more dangerous. Lacking confidence/directness, especially on that left side. Malacia [is] too cautious and a bit off the pace to realise the opportunities are there. He did put in a decent ball, TBF, but need more from them areas.”
Another posted: “Can Dorgu come on at half time? Malacia just ain’t it, is he?”
Supporters highlighted Malacia’s cautious approach, lack of attacking threat, and struggles in Amorim’s system, emphasizing the need for a wing-back capable of taking on opponents. Many predicted that Dorgu’s style would be a much better fit and speculated that Malacia’s time at the club could be nearing its end.
Malacia’s struggles were expected to some extent since he’s just returning from long-term injuries, but this performance really exposed his limitations in Amorim’s system. He’s a natural left-back, not a wing-back, and that hesitation in the final third was obvious. Fans seem convinced that Patrick Dorgu will be a significant upgrade, especially given his attacking strengths.
Do you think Malacia still has a future at United, maybe as a backup to Luke Shaw, or will Dorgu’s arrival push him out completely? Also, with Miguel Gutiérrez and Milos Kerkez linked, do you think United should go for multiple left-back options, or would Dorgu be enough?
