Man Utd fans demand player to be sold after latest club announcement causes social media meltdown

Manchester United supporters have urged the club to sell a player after a recent announcement led to a social media uproar. The team is set to begin their Premier League season on Friday, hosting Fulham at Old Trafford. However, they will be without left-back Luke Shaw, who was deemed unfit to play against Manchester City in the Community Shield last weekend.
United revealed that Shaw has sustained a calf injury, sidelining him until at least the next international break in September. A club statement confirmed: “Luke Shaw will miss the opening games of the Premier League season due to a calf injury sustained at the start of pre-season training. He is working hard on his rehabilitation with a view to being available after the first international break.”

Shaw had just returned to training after reaching the Euro 2024 final with England, where he played the full 90 minutes in the final against Spain on July 13—his first appearance for club or country since February due to a hamstring issue.

While United fans empathize with Shaw’s situation and recognize his importance when fit, concerns about his future at the club are growing, particularly with the team’s lack of depth at left-back. One fan commented: “This is unfortunately the last season of Luke Shaw at Manchester United.”

Another fan said: “Luke Shaw is likely our best player after Bruno, but that only matters if he’s fit.” A third added: “While we support him and his recovery, we should be planning to move on from him entirely.”

A fourth fan remarked: “Luke Shaw nearly lost his leg. It’s definitely time to move on—it’s a shame he can’t stay fit. The fact that he’s even walking, let alone playing football, is a miracle.”
The recent announcement regarding Luke Shaw’s calf injury has sparked a significant reaction among Manchester United supporters, with many expressing frustration over his recurring fitness issues. Shaw, who had just returned to training after England’s Euro 2024 campaign, is now set to miss the beginning of the Premier League season, including the opening match against Fulham at Old Trafford.

Fans have taken to social media to voice their concerns, acknowledging Shaw’s talent but questioning his long-term future at the club due to his injury history. Some fans believe that despite his importance when fit, Manchester United should consider moving on from him and exploring other options at left-back.

This sentiment reflects the growing concern among the fanbase about the team’s lack of depth in that position, especially with Shaw frequently sidelined. The calls for a potential sale highlight the frustration with his inability to maintain consistent fitness, despite his undeniable quality when available.

As the team prepares for the new season, it will be interesting to see how Manchester United addresses the situation and whether they will take action in the transfer market to strengthen their options at left-back.
