Man Utd ready to offer new contract to player just four games into the new season after excellent run of form

Manchester United are looking to offer a new contract to a standout player who has impressed club officials this season.
United’s season regained momentum over the weekend with a convincing 3-0 win against newly-promoted Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium. This victory followed a difficult start, having only one win before the international break and losses to Brighton and Liverpool.
Despite a rocky beginning, one player has stood out in four of United’s five matches so far, prompting the club to consider offering him a new contract as a reward for his strong performances. According to the Manchester Evening News, United plan to extend Amad Diallo’s contract in the coming months.
Diallo is currently in the last year of his contract, but United hold the option to extend it for an additional year, allowing them time to negotiate. Given his impressive form this season, the club aims to secure the 22-year-old’s future as soon as possible.
If a new deal cannot be finalized before the end of the year, United will trigger the extension to prevent Diallo from negotiating with other clubs in the January transfer window.
Negotiations are expected to be straightforward, as Diallo has expressed his desire to remain at Manchester United and potentially spend his entire career there. When asked about a new deal during preseason, he responded, “Yeah, why not? I’m very happy here. I think everyone is happy with me because I smile with everyone, good energy. Why not stay here all my life?”
United acquired the Ivorian from Serie A side Atalanta in October 2020 for a fee reported to be up to £37 million. Since joining, Diallo has made 26 appearances for United, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
Manchester United are reportedly set to offer Amad Diallo a new contract after his impressive performances this season. The 22-year-old winger has stood out in four of United’s five matches, helping the club regain momentum with a 3-0 win over Southampton, following a difficult start to the campaign. Despite being in the final year of his contract, United hold an option to extend it for another year, giving them time to negotiate a longer-term deal.
Diallo, who joined United from Atalanta in 2020 for a fee that could rise to £37 million, has expressed his desire to stay at the club long-term. If a new contract is not agreed upon soon, United will trigger the one-year extension to prevent him from negotiating with other clubs in January. Diallo’s enthusiasm for remaining at Old Trafford, as expressed in preseason interviews, makes the negotiations likely to proceed smoothly.
