Manchester United has received a significant setback with a major injury before their upcoming match against Crystal Palace.

A significant injury setback has hit Manchester United just before their Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace scheduled for tomorrow.

Manchester United will resume their struggling league campaign on Monday as they head to Selhurst Park. After Chelsea’s dominant victory over West Ham United on Sunday, the Red Devils find themselves in eighth place in the league standings.

And ahead of taking on Oliver Glasner’s side, Erik ten Hag has suffered yet another injury blow.

Ten Hag will have to manage without Harry Maguire, who has suffered a muscle injury that will sideline him for approximately three weeks, as per a club statement. Manchester United are optimistic about his recovery and are aiming for his return ahead of their FA Cup final clash against Manchester City on May 25th.The England international is expected to sit out his team’s remaining league matches against Palace, Arsenal, and Newcastle United. However, there’s a possibility of Maguire making a comeback for the Red Devils’ Wembley showdown against their cross-town rivals. With Maguire sidelined, Ten Hag has only one fit senior center-back available, as Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, and Raphael Varane are all sidelined as well.

In addition to the injuries to their senior center-backs, Willy Kambwala, who made his debut this season, is also sidelined. On a positive note, Jonny Evans has recently returned to training and might be available for the match against Palace.

It’s worth noting that Manchester United deployed a center-back pairing of Casemiro and Maguire in their last match against Burnley, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

It’s possible that Casemiro could continue to play at the back in the upcoming match against Palace.

Maguire has featured in 31 matches across all competitions this season, including 22 appearances in the league.
