Mason Greenwood has accepted a move from Manchester United and everyone in this deal will end up happy

Mason Greenwood, a forward for Manchester United, has allegedly consented to an incredible summer transfer away from Old Trafford.
Following a fruitful stint on loan at Spanish team Getafe, where he scored eight goals and supplied six assists in La Liga and won the team’s Player of the Year title, Greenwood, 22, is scheduled to return to United in the coming weeks.
Since his arrest in January 2022 on allegations of attempted rape, controlling behavior, and assault—charges that were ultimately dropped—Greenwood has not been on the field for United. The athlete refuted every accusation made against him.
Even though United said earlier this week that Greenwood would be staying with the team, it appears he will pursue his career outside of Old Trafford.
Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, and other elite European teams have all been mentioned as possible foreign suitors for the attacker.
It now appears likely that he will go to Italy instead.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via The Metro) reports that Greenwood has already responded positively to a prospective transfer to Juventus, the dominant team in Serie A.
According to reports, United has set an asking price of between €35–40 million (£30–34 million) this summer and is eager to trade Greenwood.
Juventus is certain they can work out a better price and is searching for “advantageous formulae” to seal the transaction.
There are rumors that in a possible trade for Greenwood, who is about to reach the last year of his contract at United, Juventus may choose to utilize either Federico Chiesa or Samuel Iling-Junior.
Although he acknowledged Getafe in a rare public remark after the conclusion of his loan with the Spanish club, Greenwood has remained silent about his future plans.
“I am really appreciative of the Getafe family and supporters for an incredible season; I appreciate how you all embraced and treated me like one of your own. Together with my teammates and the club, I relished every moment,” Greenwood said on Instagram.
Mason Greenwood, the Manchester United forward, is reportedly on the brink of a transfer to Juventus following a successful loan spell at Getafe. Greenwood, who scored eight goals and provided six assists in La Liga, was also named Getafe’s Player of the Year. Despite Manchester United’s recent announcement that Greenwood would stay with the club, he appears set to move abroad.

Since his arrest in January 2022 on charges of attempted rape, controlling behavior, and assault—later dropped—Greenwood has not played for Manchester United. He has consistently denied all allegations.

The forward, now 22, has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli. However, reports suggest that he is most likely to join Juventus, as he has shown a positive response to their proposal. United has reportedly set a transfer fee of €35–40 million (£30–34 million) but Juventus hopes to negotiate a better deal, possibly including players like Federico Chiesa or Samuel Iling-Junior as part of the exchange.

Greenwood has expressed gratitude towards Getafe in a recent Instagram post but has not disclosed his future plans. The transfer discussions are ongoing, with Juventus optimistic about securing the young talent.
