Mikel Arteta axes trio, £30m signing complete, wonderkid U-turns – Arsenal’s dream attack once £120m deal is completed

Arsenal already has a strong attack, but coach Mikel Arteta needs to make improvements if they want to finally beat Manchester City next season. This means they might still sign new attacking players before the summer transfer window closes. At the same time, some of their current attackers are likely to leave.

Last season, Arsenal finished second in the Premier League, mainly using Bukayo Saka on the right wing, Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing, Kai Havertz as the main striker, and Leandro Trossard coming off the bench as a powerful substitute.

In the coming days, Emile Smith Rowe is expected to move to Fulham for £35 million. Leicester City is discussing a loan move for Reiss Nelson, and Marseille is interested in Eddie Nketiah.

If these players leave, it could give Arteta some extra money to spend on a new attacker. Although Havertz did well as a striker last season, Arsenal could benefit from having another strong competitor for the striker position, ideally someone who is a traditional No. 9.

One potential new signing is Ajax forward Brian Brobbey, who scored 22 goals last season. Signing Brobbey for £30 million, especially if it means beating Manchester United to his signature, would definitely strengthen Arteta’s attack.

With Brobbey competing with Havertz and, to a lesser extent, Gabriel Jesus for the central striker role, while Saka and Martinelli continue to dominate the wings, Arsenal fans have plenty to be excited about.

However, it’s not just about the current team. Arsenal also needs to think about the future. They might regret losing 16-year-old striker Chido Obi-Martin to Manchester United in the future.

Earlier this month, Arsenal announced that Obi-Martin, who scored an impressive 32 goals in 20 games for the Under-18 team last season, has not signed a scholarship deal with the club. Obi-Martin is expected to move to another team for free, but Arsenal should make a strong effort to convince the young talent to stay, possibly by promising him playing time with the senior team.
