Johan Bakayoko, a winger playing for PSV Eindhoven, is not currently a target for Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano. Even though other clubs are interested in Bakayoko this summer, Arsenal is still considering their options.

Romano says that Bakayoko, who is 21 years old, is one of the best wingers available right now. After another great season in the Dutch league, he is now focused on Euro 2024 with Belgium. His teammate, Romelu Lukaku, has praised him as “incredible.”

Liverpool has also shown interest in Bakayoko. Their new manager, Arne Slot, knows Bakayoko from his time coaching in the Netherlands.

There are rumors that Premier League clubs are interested in Bakayoko again this summer, with a possible transfer fee of £43 million. He mentioned in an interview that former Burnley manager Vincent Kompany had spoken to him about his vision for the team before Burnley returned to the Premier League.

Bakayoko is seen as one of the top young Belgian players, along with Jeremy Doku and Lois Openda. He made his debut for PSV’s first team in 2022. However, Romano says it is still too early to say if Bakayoko will transfer to Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal is taking their time to decide if they need another winger, as they already have Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Bukayo Saka on their team.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT that there is no immediate deal between Arsenal and Bakayoko:

“I’ve seen the rumors, but I don’t have any evidence that there’s progress or a solid connection between Arsenal and Bakayoko. Many clubs have scouted him. He is undoubtedly one of the most talented wingers available.

However, it’s still early. Arsenal hasn’t started formal talks with Bakayoko or his club. I think Arsenal will think carefully before making any decisions about that position. Right now, Bakayoko doesn’t see it as something that’s going to happen soon.”

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, plans to spend more money this summer after the team narrowly missed winning the Premier League. The arrival of Declan Rice last year set a new transfer record for the club, and despite a slow start to the summer, they could still make some big signings.

Bakayoko’s future will likely be decided after Belgium’s performance in Euro 2024. He had a standout season with PSV, scoring 12 goals and making nine assists in 33 league games, which led to his first call-up for a major tournament.
