REPORT: Yoro needed one training session to show his United teammates what he can do
Leny Yoro had trained only once with United before pulling on his No.15 shirt and striding out at Murrayfield with his new teammates, some of whose names he will still have been trying to learn.
Striding is the operative word, given the 6ft 2ins defender’s telescopic legs, which proved they are capable of bailing United out of trouble. Premier League forwards might find themselves surprised at Yoro’s ability to stretch out a foot and take the ball away this season.
The 18-year-old was certainly the centre of attention in Edinburgh. Once again there was some disgruntlement at a few big names being left behind for a United friendly, with the club reporting that Victor Lindelof and Antony were missing for the second game in a row due to minor niggles. The name on the teamsheet that made the entrance fee worthwhile was Yoro.
