Real Madrid tipped to make club-record £150m offer for Premier League superstar

Graeme Souness has tipped Real Madrid to make a sensational 150 million pound move for one Premier League star next summer as they continue to build their ‘galactico’ side.

In 2024, Madrid clinched their 15th Champions League title with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley, thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr. This win has positioned Vinicius as the frontrunner for the prestigious Ballon d’Or, ahead of Manchester City’s Rodri.

Following this historic triumph, Madrid signed Kylian Mbappe as a free agent after his contract with PSG ended in the summer. Mbappe will join Vinicius, Endrick, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham as part of Carlo Ancelotti’s attacking lineup, with speculation that more offensive talent may be added.

In comments reported by CaughtOffside, Souness suggested that Madrid might pursue Chelsea star Cole Palmer next summer. “There are certainly other players they could have targeted. Chelsea paid £40 million for Palmer, but if Real Madrid shows interest next summer and he maintains his current form, I wouldn’t be surprised if they received a £150 million offer for him,” Souness stated.

Although Palmer debuted for City in 2020, he truly made a name for himself last season after moving to Stamford Bridge.

Since joining Chelsea, Palmer has scored 28 Premier League goals and provided 16 assists in just 41 matches.

His impressive debut season earned him a call-up to the England squad for Euro 2024, although he controversially didn’t start any games. Despite this, Palmer made a significant impact by assisting the last-minute winner in the semi-final and scoring an equalizer from distance in the final.

While the appeal of Real Madrid is strong for any young player, it would likely require a substantial fee to acquire Palmer, who is under contract with Chelsea until 2033.
Graeme Souness has predicted that Real Madrid could make a stunning £150 million bid for Chelsea star Cole Palmer next summer as the club continues to build its ‘galactico’ roster. Following Real Madrid’s recent success, winning their 15th Champions League title with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund, the club has already made significant moves in the transfer market, including signing Kylian Mbappé as a free agent after his PSG contract ended.

Souness highlighted Palmer’s impressive form since joining Chelsea, where he has scored 28 goals and provided 16 assists in just 41 Premier League matches. His standout performances earned him a spot in the England squad for Euro 2024, where he contributed key plays, including an assist in the semi-final and a goal in the final.

Palmer’s current contract with Chelsea runs until 2033, suggesting that while Real Madrid’s interest may be enticing, a transfer would require a substantial financial commitment. Souness noted that if Palmer continues his development and form, Chelsea could receive an attractive offer from the Spanish giants.
