SHOCKING NEWS: Man Utd’s bid to appoint Ruben Amorim takes new twist after Sporting Lisbon make fresh demand.

Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that his potential move to Manchester United is still undecided. Sporting CP confirmed on Tuesday that United expressed their intent to pay €10 million to activate the Portuguese manager’s release clause, following Erik ten Hag’s expected exit from Old Trafford. Despite receiving a contract extension in July, Ten Hag had lost support due to a string of disappointing performances that left United at their lowest point in Premier League history.

On Monday, United officially parted ways with Ten Hag, with the team currently languishing in 14th place in the league. Amorim, Sporting’s manager, quickly emerged as the prime candidate to succeed him after showcasing his abilities in Liga Portugal.

However, Amorim revealed that his future with United remains unresolved, emphasizing that he will make his own decision based on his personal goals. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he stated, “Listen to the club statement and that’s all there is for now. Manchester United have shown interest in paying my clause, and once there’s something concrete, I’ll make a decision. But it will ultimately be my choice, as long as all factors haven’t been fully determined.”

He continued, “I’ll do what I want to do, just as I always have as a player and manager. Right now, no decision has been made.”

It sounds like Manchester United’s managerial situation is in a state of flux, with Ruben Amorim emerging as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag, who recently parted ways with the club. Amorim’s success with Sporting CP in Liga Portugal has made him a compelling candidate, and United’s willingness to activate his €10 million release clause shows serious interest.

Amorim’s recent comments suggest that he’s carefully weighing his options, prioritizing his personal goals before committing to a move. Given United’s challenging position in the Premier League, Amorim would have a significant task ahead if he takes over. His decision could mark a crucial turning point for both him and United as they navigate this transitional phase.
