Liverpool is reportedly keeping a close eye on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, thinking about a possible transfer in the upcoming window. Sources from Football Insider say that Liverpool’s recruitment team has sent top-notch scouts to regularly watch the 22-year-old forward. Other clubs are also interested in him.

Olise showed his skills by scoring two goals in Palace’s 3-1 comeback against Brentford in the Premier League. This win ended the club’s recent struggle for positive results. This outstanding performance makes the Frenchman a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. Salah is set to enter the final year of his contract with Liverpool next summer.

Football Insider reports that Liverpool sees Olise as a potential attacking target, thinking about the future. This is even though the young player signed a four-year deal with Palace in August. Salah, who had interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, is expected to stay at Anfield at least until the next summer transfer window.

Olise is known for being versatile, able to play in various positions such as midfielder, number 10 role, both wide flanks, and even as a center-forward or false nine.

Despite facing fitness issues this season, Liverpool has closely watched Olise’s progress for five years, going back to his debut with Reading when he was just 17 years old and remarkably talented. In the current Premier League season, he has mostly played as a right-sided forward, scoring five goals and providing one assist in nine appearances.
