This is the only Premier League player we need to replace Alejandro Garnacho with. Him alone can win us the league because of how good amd how strong he is. If we don’t sign him, Real Madrid will. The fans loves him and he will love to play for us”-Mark Goldbridge names Premier League star Man Utd ‘need to be all over’ to replace Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United fan and YouTuber Mark Goldbridge has already voiced his opinion on who the club should sign if Alejandro Garnacho leaves.
The 20-year-old winger has recently been linked with potential transfers to Napoli and Chelsea. This marks a surprising shift, as Garnacho was previously considered “untouchable” under Erik ten Hag’s management and a crucial part of the Dutchman’s plans.
However, things have changed since Ruben Amorim took over as United’s manager in November 2024. On December 15, Amorim notably omitted Garnacho from the squad for United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad. Although Amorim later praised Garnacho’s response, the winger has spent much of the last three months on the bench.
Adding fuel to the transfer speculation, reports surfaced on Monday that Garnacho’s agent attended Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Italian outlet Il Mattino claimed the player has already agreed to join Napoli.
Amid the uncertainty, United Stand host and Red Devils supporter Mark Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, suggested a potential replacement. On Tuesday morning, the 45-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to advocate for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha.
“Man Utd need to be all over this Cunha deal,” Goldbridge wrote.
Cunha, 25, has been one of the few bright spots in a struggling Wolves side, scoring ten goals and providing four assists in 22 appearances this season. Following Wolves’ recent 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, manager Vitor Pereira criticized the team’s attitude, saying, “I don’t like this body language. I want someone, as a captain, trying to help the team – running, suffering, and fighting all together.”
Cunha is valued at €50 million (£42 million) by Transfermarkt, and his contract runs until June 2027. Both Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly interested in the Brazilian forward, which could spark a bidding war if United decide to pursue him.
The potential departure of Alejandro Garnacho would mark a significant shift for Manchester United, given the winger’s previously “untouchable” status under Erik ten Hag. However, under Ruben Amorim, Garnacho’s reduced role and transfer rumors linking him to Napoli and Chelsea indicate that change may be on the horizon.
Mark Goldbridge’s endorsement of Matheus Cunha as a replacement makes sense on several fronts. Cunha has been a standout performer for Wolves despite their struggles, contributing ten goals and four assists in just 22 appearances this season. His work rate, versatility, and creativity could make him a valuable addition to United’s attacking options, especially with the uncertainty surrounding players like Jadon Sancho and Garnacho.
However, signing Cunha won’t be straightforward. His €50 million valuation and interest from Liverpool and Arsenal could lead to a bidding war, driving up the cost. United’s recent managerial instability and inconsistent form might also make it challenging to compete for high-profile players against in-form rivals.
Do you think Cunha is the right profile for United, or should the club aim for a more established star to fill Garnacho’s potential void?
