This is the particular player who orchestrated Erik ten Hag sacking and now Amorim is risking his job by starting…If he keep starting him, he’ll be sacked soon”: Jose Mourinho has advised Ruben Amorim to stop playing ONE particular Man United’s player or get sacked by January
Roy Keane blasted Manchester United’s reaction to their early lead at Ipswich Town and declared that “there’s nothing to fear” playing against the Red Devils.
New boss Ruben Amorim got off to a dream start when Marcus Rashford converted Amad Diallo’s cross from the right inside the second minute at Portman Road.
However, Ipswich quickly grew into the game and were denied an equaliser by a spectacular Andre Onana save against Liam Delap.
They were rewarded for their efforts with a deserved equaliser two minutes before half-time, when Omari Hutchinson’s brilliant curler was deflected into the top left-hand corner of the net.
Keane praised United’s quickfire opening, saying during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game: “Brilliant start by United, first minute of the game.
“I’m not sure if (Rashford) connects properly with the cross, I’m not sure about the goalkeeper, but this is what you want from your wing-backs from an attack-minded player.
“Great start by United but they’ve not really done much after that and Ipswich have deserved their equaliser. But a great start from United, I think the manager couldn’t believe it.”
Commenting on their failure to build on the goalscoring start, Keane added: “There’s nothing to fear when you are playing United. United get a great start and then they sit back.
“I’m looking at United going, what are you waiting for? Go after Ipswich. But they sit back and give Ipswich a lot of encouragement, and they deserved an equaliser.”
Roy Keane criticized Manchester United’s lack of intensity and failure to capitalize on their early momentum in the 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town, expressing frustration with their passive approach.
New manager Rúben Amorim’s tenure began promisingly when Marcus Rashford finished Amad Diallo’s cross just two minutes into the game. Despite this explosive start, United failed to maintain their dominance, allowing Ipswich to grow into the match. Andre Onana made a brilliant save to deny Liam Delap, but Omari Hutchinson’s deflected strike brought Ipswich level before halftime.
Keane, speaking on *Sky Sports*, praised the opening goal but was critical of United’s response:
– **On the fast start:** “Brilliant start by United, first minute of the game. I’m not sure if Rashford connects properly with the cross, or about the goalkeeper, but that’s what you want from attack-minded wing-backs. Great start by United.”
– **On the lack of follow-up:** “But they’ve not really done much after that, and Ipswich have deserved their equaliser. United get a great start, and then they sit back. I’m looking at United going, *what are you waiting for?* Go after Ipswich.”
Keane added that Ipswich grew in confidence due to United’s hesitancy:
– “There’s nothing to fear when you are playing United. They give Ipswich a lot of encouragement, and Ipswich deserved their equaliser.”
Keane’s critique highlights long-standing concerns about Manchester United’s inability to sustain pressure and dominate games under various managers. With Amorim only beginning his stint, the pressure will be on the Portuguese coach to instill greater urgency and consistency in performances moving forward.
