This is what they need to fix if they want to win the league this season. That’s the only problem they have right now. We havs this issues back then under Alex Ferguson but we fixed it. Erik Ten Hag has the right player to fix the issue and he is the only available player that can execute the job.l”-Paul Scholes slams Man Utd and singles out ‘biggest Manchester United problem’ that reacalled after Liverpool humiliation as gives Erik ten Hag the solution to the problem…

Paul Scholes has identified what he believes to be Manchester United’s biggest issue following their defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool.
The Red Devils were outplayed from start to finish, with Liverpool securing a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
Following the loss, manager Erik ten Hag faced significant criticism from fans, and his job security has come under scrutiny once again, with betting odds being slashed on his potential sacking.
Speaking on Premier League Productions after the match, former England and United midfielder Scholes pinpointed a major problem with the current United team.
He said: “It was a difficult afternoon, but they need to understand what they’re up against. We know United have a lot of work to do. The center of the pitch is a big issue. I felt Liverpool were miles ahead of them there.”
“The biggest thing I noticed from being pitchside and watching the players was that Liverpool looked fitter and more athletic. [Kobbie] Mainoo took time to get into the game; Bruno Fernandes seemed sluggish; [Joshua] Zirkzee needs more playing time since he hasn’t played much.”
“That was the main concern for me. Even though it’s still early in the season, these are worrying signs—are the team working hard enough behind the scenes to be as fit as they should be? They just didn’t look fit enough.”
Scholes continued: “If you have a center-back who can’t get through a full game, that’s a concern. It suggests that the team isn’t fit enough from the start. Your back four should stay on early in the season. You might sub a full-back occasionally, but your two center-backs should be able to play the entire game. In the first three games, United have had to change them during matches. How can a center-back not be fit enough?”
“You can use the excuse of the Euros, and it might take some time to get going, but Liverpool had players at the Euros too. Other teams had players there, and they’re not struggling like this.”
After the international break, United will resume their Premier League campaign with a match against newly promoted Southampton.
Paul Scholes has highlighted what he sees as a critical issue for Manchester United following their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, emphasizing the team’s lack of fitness and struggles in the center of the pitch. Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Manchester United midfielder pointed out that Liverpool dominated the midfield, revealing a significant gap in both fitness and athleticism between the two sides.
Scholes noted that players like Kobbie Mainoo took time to settle into the game, Bruno Fernandes appeared sluggish, and Joshua Zirkzee seemed to lack sharpness due to limited playing time. He expressed concern that these fitness issues are showing early in the season, questioning whether the team is doing enough work behind the scenes to reach the necessary fitness levels.
He also raised concerns about the center-back situation, where United have had to substitute central defenders in their opening games, suggesting a lack of fitness. Scholes argued that center-backs should be fit enough to play a full match, especially this early in the season.
Scholes dismissed the idea that participation in the Euros could be an excuse for United’s struggles, pointing out that Liverpool and other teams had players at the tournament but are not experiencing similar fitness issues. His comments come amid rising criticism of manager Erik ten Hag, whose job security is under scrutiny following the poor start to the season. United will look to bounce back after the international break when they face newly promoted Southampton in their next Premier League fixture.
