Turkish giants Galatasaray planning shock move for Manchester United defender
Victor Lindelof, a defender for Manchester United, has emerged as a potential departure from Old Trafford, with Galatasaray expressing interest.
Despite his significant contributions to the team at times, it’s reported that he does not feature in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s upcoming strategies.
Lindelof, who hails from Sweden, made his move to United from Benfica in Portugal in 2017. Since then, he has amassed 258 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and assisting seven times.
Is Victor Lindelof headed to Turkey this summer?
He has only featured in 14 Premier League matches this season due to injuries. United is reportedly looking to sell him, and Galatasaray is said to be planning a significant move for him, considering him their top target for the summer transfer window, according to reports from Turkish outlet Aspor.Lindelof, with one year left on his current contract with Manchester United, is reportedly valued at approximately £15 million by the club.
He might not be the sole defender departing Old Trafford in the summer, as uncertainties loom over the futures of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, and Jonny Evans. With potential changes in United’s defense next season, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to be eyeing a top-notch center-back for acquisition.
Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, who recently netted against rivals Liverpool, has been linked with a move to United. However, securing a deal for the 21-year-old won’t be straightforward, as Everton is expected to demand a hefty sum, believed to be at least £70 million.
United has also been linked with Gleison Bremer from Juventus and Jean Clair-Todibo from Nice. Bremer, reportedly priced at around £51 million, could offer a significant presence in United’s defense for several years, given his age of 27.
Additionally, if United pursues Todibo, they could hold an edge over other potential suitors for the 24-year-old’s signature, considering that Ratcliffe’s INEOS group has ownership of the French club.It seems like Lindelof’s departure from Manchester United could be on the cards, especially with Galatasaray expressing interest. However, nothing is certain in the world of football transfers until official announcements are made. With United considering changes in their defense lineup, there’s definitely room for speculation.
