We all know they’re just beating around the bush, the truth of the matter is they can never win the FA Cup anytime soon’: Brazilian football legend Ronaldo has given his prediction for this season’s FA Cup as he ruled Chelsea out

Once again, Chelsea found themselves in a nail-biting situation, needing two late goals to secure a 4-2 victory against Leicester City in the FA Cup, despite playing with ten men after Callum Doyle’s red card. Mauricio Pochettino, in his first season with the club, reaches his second cup semi-final and aims to redeem their League Cup defeat to Liverpool.

The game at SW6 had everything, with Chelsea leading 2-0 at halftime, setting up what seemed like a straightforward second half. Marc Cucurella opened the scoring after 13 minutes, capitalizing on Nicolas Jackson’s good work. However, Sterling had a tough afternoon, despite setting up Cole Palmer’s goal, and was booed off the pitch after a disappointing performance.

Leicester City equalized with an own goal from Axel Disasi and a stunning strike from Stephy Mavididi. Chelsea regained control after Doyle’s red card, and late goals from Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke secured the win.

Despite the victory, Chelsea’s defensive frailties are evident, having conceded two goals in each of their last four matches. Pochettino experimented with different defensive combinations but needs to find a balance between attacking full-backs and defensive solidity.

Pochettino defended his tactical decisions, stating, “I am not here to give the people what they want. I am not stupid.” His substitutions proved decisive, with the substitutes scoring the winning goals.

Pochettino emphasized the need for further recruitment to strengthen the squad. A creative midfielder, a disciplined full-back, and a confident ball-playing goalkeeper are areas that require attention.

With eleven matches remaining in the season, Chelsea aims to finish as high as possible in the table to attract future signings. Despite the challenges, there are signs of promise for the club’s supporters to hold onto as they look ahead to another summer of rebuilding.
