Manchester United is embarking on an ambitious £100 million transfer strategy aimed at parting ways with both Jadon Sancho and Antony. Sancho, who had a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, has recently departed Old Trafford to join Borussia Dortmund on loan until the season’s end, without an option to buy. Antony, on the other hand, has faced criticism for his lackluster performances in a Manchester United shirt this season, failing to score in 22 appearances.

Reports suggest that both players are considered surplus to requirements at Manchester United, prompting the club to devise a plan for their departure in the upcoming summer transfer window. According to The Standard, Sancho and Antony have been offered to clubs in Saudi Arabia as Manchester United aims to recoup a portion of the £155 million they initially invested in the duo. The club is reportedly seeking around £50 million for each player.

Jadon Sancho, who had been linked with clubs such as Barcelona and Juventus, opted for a loan deal with Borussia Dortmund earlier this month. The 23-year-old English winger, acquired for a substantial £73 million in 2021, has scored 12 goals in 82 games since joining Manchester United. However, he had limited opportunities under Ten Hag this season, making just three appearances before returning to Germany.

As for Antony, the Brazilian forward received criticism from Ten Hag, who urged him to ‘do better’ last week. Antony’s future at Manchester United appears uncertain, especially considering his hefty £86 million price tag from the summer of 2022. Despite a promising eight-goal performance in 44 games across all competitions last season, the 23-year-old has yet to find the back of the net this season.

Manchester United’s director of football, John Murtough, took steps to explore potential transfer opportunities during the Club World Cup in December. Murtough engaged in discussions with officials from the Saudi Pro League and Saudi Ministry of Sport, aiming to establish connections for player sales in the upcoming summer transfer window. The outcome of these talks suggests that Sancho and Antony could potentially find new homes in Saudi Arabia, aligning with Manchester United’s strategic plans for player offloads.
